WiFi Hacking: ALFA AWUS036ACH Setup

Demonstration of how to set up the ALFA AWUS036ACH USB wireless adapter with Kali Linux 2019.3, running in Virtual Box.

Steps:
1. Set the USB Controller to 1.1 (OHCI) for the Kali VM
2. Install the correct driver: apt install realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms

    Good video my Alfa is working (i'm not on a VM). Can you show us how to get the build-in laptop wifi to auto connect to my wifi and my Alfa to stay ready but not connected? I'd like to have my build-in to always be my internet access so my Alfa can be the MitM or Rogue AP for stuff like wifi pumpkin.

    When I connect the adapter to Kali I get the following error: "Failed to attach the USB device Realtek 802.11n NIC to the virtual machine Kali-Linux-2019.2-vbox-amd64". I made sure USB 1.0 was selected before start

    Worked for me using Kali in Virtual Box. Using USB 1.1 is what worked!
    I tried so many different github drivers all bc I thought my adapter was compatible with USB 2 & 3 haha

    Hey friend, I was able to get this NIC setup in KALI with no issues, however I am u able to do the same in Parrot. I can't even get Parrot to connect to the internet on my internal (Intel) wireless NIC. So therefore I cant download the new driver. Could ya help? I am using the latest version of Parrot with all updates. Thanks

    I tried this and still doesn't work. I notice in vm on setting for usb it was grayed out for changing to usb1. Maybe this is the problem. Also I updated on kali but not on windows should I do both.

    Failed to create a proxy device for the USBdevice. (error:VERR_PDM_NO_USB_PORTS). This is my error message. and dont know how to fix. Any help would be great 🙂
